Overview

The SEM 832F is a heavy-duty track-type tractor designed for dozing, grading, material handling, stockpiling and ripping in demanding working environments.

Powered by a Perkins 1706D engine compliant with Tier III emission standards and delivering up to 253 kW / 339 hp, the 832F combines high power, electronically controlled hydrostatic transmission and excellent maneuverability. Its F Series design, multiple track configurations, SU, S, coal and waste-handling blades, and single-shank ripper allow it to adapt to heavy construction, mining, port operations, road construction, coal handling, waste handling and forestry applications.

Enhanced Reliability

The dual-path hydrostatic drive system, using electronic control technology and a single-pump, dual-motor design per side from a world-class supplier, delivers industry-leading reliability. The Perkins engine, widely used in industry, provides durability and dependability. The final drive uses triple-stage reduction with four planetary gears to ensure longer service life. Machine structures are analyzed using FEA and OMSA to identify and reinforce high-stress areas. Sealed and Lubricated Track chains, offered as standard, significantly extend overall longevity. The equalizer bar with rubber pads and pivot shaft are pinned to the tubular track roller frame to minimize impacts and extend undercarriage life. The wet multi-disc brake system, with two brakes per side, delivers high reliability and strong braking performance, even in challenging operating conditions.

Outstanding Versatility and Productivity

Compared with powershift machines, Caterpillar’s proven hydrostatic transmission load-sensing system delivers higher productivity. Infinitely variable speed, counter-rotation and power turn functions enable smooth and efficient operation. The double-pump confluence hydraulic system and quick-drop valve reduce cycle time while minimizing fuel consumption. The modular single-plane cooling system, combined with a hydraulic demand fan driven by a piston pump, can operate in extreme ambient temperatures from -40°C to +50°C while delivering excellent fuel efficiency.

Maintenance-free, lifetime-lubricated idlers, track rollers and carrier rollers simplify servicing and provide real value to customers. The implement distribution valve, equipped with a pressure testing port, is installed outside the hydraulic oil tank for easier access and reduced maintenance time. Diagnostic codes covering both the engine and hydrostatic system allow quick troubleshooting.
